3D stained glass cards are a great and easy craft for the holidays. The simple Print & Cut pattern shows how you can take your favorite picture or Clipart and turn it into a wonderful gift in an envelope.
Where to find the files:
You can find Stained Glass files on Etsy, you can make them yourself with midjourney or you can find them here on my website.
And, I’ll give you a little hint. If you want to make the project even easier then start by printing and cutting your photos on glossy vinyl sticker paper. It’s more expensive then cutting on glossy photo paper, but the value is in being able to just stick the graphic directly onto the clip part.
What You’ll Need
(1) sheet of 8.5 x 11 of one of the following: Printable Cardstock, Photo Paper or Vinyl Stickers
- Printable Cardstock: Printable cardstock is great for whimisical watercolor style clipart art or graphics. The colors will be muted and a little vintage looking because the cardstock will absorb a bit of the ink.
- Photo Paper: This is ideal for most pictures. Glossy photo paper provides every pictures with a lovely glossy finished look.
- Vinyl Stickers / Matte or Glossy: This is my option of choice because it cuts down on the glue, and because it’s a sticker I can just print and cut and stick it right to the card layer.
(1) 12 x 12 Paper or Cardstock: This is for the envelope
(2) 8.5 x 11 or 12 x 12 cardstock: This is for the card pieces that go behind the pictures and for the actual card piece. My suggestion is to select one color that compliments your graphic, and one very light color for the card itself. I suggest the light color because it’s easier to write in the card if it’s light.
